NEW TO ORTHODOXY?

We hope that you will find us to be a friendly and loving mission church, attempting to follow Christ with our whole being. ALL ARE WELCOME to all of our services. We don’t have separate services for ‘seekers’, nor do we shuttle the children off. We only offer ONE service on Sunday. Since we believe so firmly that the parish is the body of Christ and a FAMILY, we all share ONE meal together. The Eucharist (The Divine Liturgy, Holy Communion) is the whole family receiving Christ as one.

Due to the unfortunate divisions among us, Holy Communion can only be offered to those Orthodox Christians who have duly prepared themselves by prayer, fasting, and recent confession. Nevertheless, we pray for the day on which you will share fully in the faith of the Church as we have received it, and join us in receiving the Holy Mysteries (Sacraments).

The road to Orthodoxy can be bumpy, since most of us in the United States were born and raised quite differently. The sights, sounds, scents, even the vocabulary of the Orthodox Church is much different that most of us have experienced in our upbringing. When you encounter these differences, experience them, and ask about them!

The Orthodox Church does not deny or deprecate the expressions of the various Non-Orthodox expressions, but rather exists as fullness. You will surely find, as so many of us have, that the Orthodox Faith includes everything you were looking for, and so much that you never knew about! If you are serious and committed to finding the ‘early’ Church, the ‘ancient’ Church, or simply ‘The Church’, with patience and prayer, you will need to look no further than here.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to ask: email is great, but I’d be delighted to meet with or speak to you personally. If you are looking for something Orthodox and don’t find it on our pages, don’t hesitate to email and ask. Even if we are not linked, chances are we know where to find what you are looking for!
